Deer Report Form

Last Update 2-01-2012

Ice Fishing Derby is cancelled for 2012.
The warm weather has deteriorated the ice we did have and I do not see any cold weather that will produce the ice needed for a safe derby.
We will still have the raffle ticket drawing, Lou Bock and Pete Peterson will be at the Sportsman’s club selling tickets, from noon to 4:00pm Saturday, and Sunday from noon to 3:00pm.  The drawing for the cash will be held as close as possible after 3:00 pm.

To Our New Members and Visitors
Welcome to our website.  The Mad River Club is believed to be the second oldest sportsmen's club in New York State having been incorporated in 1894.  Our membership has over 300 members. We lease or own over 16,000 acres  in New York.  Our primary properties are located in Oswego County, on the Tug Hill Plateau.  We also lease three different parcels in the "central southerntier".  Our membership is open to all, but limited in numbers.

The Mad River Club prides itself in offering quality hunting, fishing, and trapping opportunities to its membership.  We also pride ourselves in our awareness and involvement  in the issues that concern all sportsmen by our participation in the Oswego County Federation of Sportsmen's Clubs, The Oswego County Sportsmen's Foundation, Affiliated Sportsmen's Clubs of Jefferson County, New York Hunter and Archery Safety Program, and the New York State Conservation Council, the NRA, and other like minded organizations..

The strength of our club is from our membership and their dedication to the protection and promotion of opportunities for the sportsmen for today and tomorrow

MRC Member's Wife Gets Her First Buck on the Mad River Club
Her husband is working out of state, venison is needed for the table so what is she to do.  Well, she goes hunting with her son (also a MRC member) bags a pound buck and is out of the woods by 11:00.  Not only does she get a buck she field dresses and butchers the deer herself.  Gentlemen I wonder if she gives lessons there is much to be learned here.  Congratulations to our successful member.

From her son I heard tell.
