Club Meeting: Friday December 9th. This will be the clubs annual
Christmas party.

mtg will be held on December 5th at 6:00 pm due to the Christmas
party.

No regular club mtg in November due to hunting season.
MEETING:
The
regular meeting started at 8:00 with Lou McNett chairing the meeting. ON

AND AILING:
None reported at the meeting. Hunting
Season: We
know everyone is looking forward to getting into the woods for the upcoming
hunting season. Please be considerate of others and keep safety in mind. To all:
have a safe and successful season. Also,
please submit a deer take report. The club does not need to know exactly
were you got the deer just what property. This info is used by the lease
committee to verify we are spending our lease funds on the right property. The
deer reports can be found at the clubhouse, Ken Creechs camp and online at the
MRC website. Thanks for taking the time to help the lease land committee. Camping
Committee: March
1st the camping permits will go out. The money for the site needs to
be back by May 1st. Capital
Improvement Fund:
The
woman’s room is now working along with the ADA restroom. Thanks to the many
members that donated so much of their time in the summer months. However,
the men’s room still needs a few things done to it, Painting-Shower
fixtures-Sink-Toilet partitions-Doors to hang so please let us know if you can
still help out. Please call Kevin Irwin 921-9500 or Gary Crawford 677-5332.Also
the silver and gold level plaques are at the clubhouse and look great!
They will look fantastic on the new sheetrock walls. Check them out when you go
to the club Again thanks to all! CHRISTMAS
PARTY: The party is scheduled for December 9th which
is the regular scheduled club meeting. Lou Mcnett and company are presenting the
meal. The menu is roast beef, ham, and various salads. People are asked to bring
a dessert dish to pass. The times are as follows. 6:00 to 6:30pm is the club
mtg. 6:30 to 7:00pm is the cocktail time (please bring your own beverages).
7:00pm till is the dinner time. Santa will be present so if you are planning on
bringing children please let Lou Mcnett know. Gun
Raffle:
The raffle is moving along very well with winners being contacted about their

ITEMS
OF INTEREST: CLUB DUES: The annual dues will be coming out December 1st with payment due by January 1st. Included in the dues payment will be the normal yearly dues, work day fines and dues lottery. Camping notices will come out later. DON’T SHOOT THE MESSSENGER: Included in this years dues is an 8% sales tax, which is required by NYS tax laws. If someone has a hardship with the yearly dues, please contact any BOD member as soon as possible. Archery Range: The elevated platform is in place and targets are being set up. These targets are for bow use ONLY: DO NOT SHOOT at these targets with any firearm. The targets are for field tips only. No broadheads are allowed on the targets. A great deal of effort has gone into to making this range so please be considerate and use as directed. The platform will have a gate and will be locked. Your member keys will open the gate lock. Facebook Page: A Facebook page has been created with Mad River Club information posted. This includes pictures and text. See “Mad River Club-Pitkin” for the Facebook address. Family Picnic: The club is in need of a volunteer to take over the annual Club family picnic. As per our last meeting, the picnic is sorely missed and it would be great if someone would take over as chairman. Please let any board member know if you would be interested. A member has asked that the property addresses be posted in the newsletter. I will follow up with this request as I believe it would be better if we posted it on the website. We would lose track of it as the newsletters changed. If someone has good GPS coordinates for the different properties please let me know. Archery: Bill Killam (387-3350 or Dick Brock 782-5977) are the people running the archery shoot for next year. Currently Bill has 600 raffle tickets printed at $10.00 each. If you need to get in a workday before the end of October, please contact Bill Killam and he can get you going. Gutchess Lumber company: No firewood
is to be brought onto any Gutchess Property or taken off any property. Club
members can cut firewood on the property from downed trees. No standing timber
is to be cut. Also, no stone is to be removed from Gutchess property. Reports
from club members are that this is continuing to be a problem. Please do not
jeopardize the clubs hunting grounds by breaking this rule. Flickenstein Property (Lafeyette area) The owner has put up some gates to allow his herd to graze in different areas. The owner has asked that you leave the gates as you find them. If open, leave open, if closed leave closed. He is moving his herd around. When you sponsor a new member, you should plan on attending the meeting to introduce the new member. Gutchess Lumber has changed their locks to combination locks. Please leave these locks alone. NOTE: Shars diner up by the Little John drive has changed owners. It is now called The Gathering Place. Hours are Wed-Fri 7am-7pm and Sat-Sun 7am-2pm. The food and service was good and I said I would pass it along to the club members. Classifieds: If anyone is interested in selling or buying sporting goods, the newsletter can post the ads. Just drop the editor an e-mail and it will be added to the next letter (Shawn Allen email: kallen2@twcny.rr.com For Sale: I have a 2002 Suzuki Quad runner 250 for
sale. It is four wheel drive with high/low range shift. It has about 1300 miles
on it and runs great. I am asking $1500.00 or call and make me an offer. Call
