MRC ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PARTY: The party this year will be on December 8th at the clubhouse.

The plan is to have hor’derves starting at noon with dinner being served at 1:00pm. The early start is to allow for possible weather issues. This will allow people to come in the daylight hours and return home before it gets dark. The dinner this year will be lasagna (homemade), Italian bread, and a tossed salad. We are asking people to bring a dessert to share. Everything else will be provided. Yes Santa will be there handing out gifts to the children. The Tabers are asking that reservations be made before November 19th. They will need to know the number of adults and age and gender of the kids planning on coming so gifts can be bought. Please make your reservations by calling the Tabers at 315-387-3871.

NEW YORK STATE CONSERVATION COUNCIL: The NYSCC is looking to bring on a professional fundraiser for 2019. But currently the council needs some emergency donations to help make it to 2019. Some of the things the council has worked on are big game hunting for kids starting at 14 years old and we are working to get that to 12. Saturday starts to the big game season. We keep working with the DEC to get repairs done to the Caledonia Hatchery and it looks like this might start.

Send donations to NYSCC 8 East Main Street, Illion, NY 13357-1899.

A message from Bill Gibson- NYSCC Legislative Vice President (retired)

In regards to our upcoming elections: “The name of the game is turnout. A look at past elections shows how a relatively small change in voter turnout can have a major impact on the election results and thus future legislation. And remember that sins once committed are not easily undone-think the SAFE Act. “

Future new members: To help alleviate some of the problems regarding rules violations the BOD’s have decided that after January 1st new members are to come to the board meeting at 7:30 on the night they are to receive their membership. This is to allow the board to explain some of the rules and expectations that come with club membership. This is meant to be a meet and greet with a chance for the new members to ask questions and meet the board.

Trap house: The list of people authorized to use the traphouse has been deleted. Gary Granger has said that because of some new equipment and rules regarding the traphouse, he wants himself or Jim Walker contacted before some one uses the traphouse going forward. The club has invested a considerable amount of money and effort into the trap set up so please respect this request. Please call 315-427-1162 to use the traphouse.
